any info on the portable tire changer- harbor freight?

Default any info on the portable tire changer- harbor freight?

wondering if anyone has any experience using this portable changer on atv tires?

local shops want $180 to unmount and remount 4 atv tires!

It is a piece of junk, do not waste your money. After my second one broke, I just pay to have it done. Their ATV jack is ok though

Do you have a Town Fair Tire around. They were going to do them for $15 apiece but I got along so good with the kid that was doing them they did them for free.

Maybe you should try the heating the rim trick.

no- there's a wholesale tire & battery...

I found a town fair tire not 5 miles from me in auburn, ma! I gave'em a call, they said they won't mount atv tires because they don't have the proper equipment

I watched a few videos on youtube about the harbor freight portable mounter- it looks like it works pretty good, as long as it's bolted down and you have to use plenty of lube, read tons of positive reviews on it...

Of course, neither of the harbor freight stores near me have it in stock

so I just ordered it online... Hell (not h)- even if I mount one tire, it paid for itself!

We use it for our race car tires in the pits. What can I say; it works. The biggest pain is you need a good surface to bolt it or fasten it to.

I just changed out my quad tires with this thing...here is what I found. The bead breaker option of it wasn't so nice...it actually ended up bending a crease in each of the steel pieces going down to the wheel. The actually changer part of it once you get the tire broken was great...nice to have the wheel up off the ground to mess with it. Buy the bead breaker from Harbor Freight when you are buying anyway. I lagged the tire changer down to the cement floor in my garage when I was using it and it worked fine. Best way that I have found to change tires...I would recommend it!
