Default 98 polaris 250 trailblazer tranny

I recently picked up a polaris trailblazer for my daughter. I'm having problems with it popping out of drive. My local dealership informed me that the shiter fork and dog gear would probably need to be repaced. The problem is these parts have been discontinued. Any one know if the 400 parts would work or if there is a place out there that offers these parts

I would try adjusting the linkage rod to see it that cures it. Nut #14 and #10. Our 97 Sportsman 500 was jumping out of drive and just a small turn on those adjusters fixed it. These guys have the Dog (#22) Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

Beginning to see parts like this now NLA on sites such as Cycle Parts Warehouse,Partszilla, etc. Trail Blazer changed transmissions in 1999 and parts are still available for those models and up,but doesn't help you as the shift forks have changed also. Yours was the one piece double shift forks milled out of a solid bar stock. Best bet on this is finding a used gear case on ebay and taking a chance. It's 16 years old now and a lot of hard parts are becoming rare, unless NOS parts show up on ebay also. Here's the part# and all applications for it. All of these use the same shift fork, but still probably NLA.Just keep a look out for any of these gear cases/parts that may show up on ebay, craigslist.

Default Usage info for Polaris parts

Old Polaris Tech,
I found your reply very useful, in that you listed all the years and models that the shift fork was used in. That's really helpful in buying compatible parts on ebay. Is that info available on the web from Polaris, or is it from books that you got working as a tech?

Very easy to find what different parts are used on different machines using the Polaris Parts website. Just look at any part number,go to the right and click on usage. A list will show the model you're looking at and any other models that use this particular part.Browse
