I am heading out to Silver Lake on May 12th and want to buy some paddles for the Scrambler. I am wanting new rims also, so I am trying to decide between 20" and 22" rears? Any suggestions? Stock size is 22" rear and 23" fronts. The reason I ask is because I intended on getting smaller front(21") and rear(20") Razrs for after the dune ride so I could re-use the new aluminum rims for mounting smaller, sportier trail tires.

go with the 22".

I had a chance to ride both on my 300ex and there was no comparason. the 22" tires are way better. the taller tire seems to float better instead of dig, and I could run less air to get a smoother ride. if you go with the 20" you'll lose a lot of top end, which you'll really need in the dunes.

good thing I only borrowed the 20".

This may be kinda late, but if you stay with stock diameter tires you can run 4x4. I switch from 2 to 4, depending on conditions. Hill climbing is alot of fun in four wheel drive. a guy that goes with us has paddles on all four.
