Default tire stretch

I found a nice pair of DWT 14x11 wheels for only $100. The problem is I can't find a tire wider than 12 inches without being a paddle tire.

So anyone ever tried stretching a tire on the wheel? I know people do it on low riders and cars with low profile tires. I currently have 26x11-14 tires. They measure about 10 inches wide when aired up.

On the diameter you need to be the correct size but on width there is a lot of variation to be had. I have seen lots of tires mounted that were to wide and to narrow. They will mount but tire wear may be an issue. If the width gets to far off then premature tire wear is to be expected.

I dont think tire wear will be your biggest issue. (Unless you are going on the road) Keeping the tire on will be. The wider the rim the harder it is to keep the bead on.
