Tires

I am running 27 inch mega mayhems on 14" sti hd3s on a 2016 Honda rancher 4wd. I am thinking about getting maxxis zillas since they are 10 pounds lighter per tire. How much of a difference would 10 pounds per tire make on the same size tires on a 420?

You've heard the saying "No free lunch". So I suspect there is something about the Zillas that you will like better and vice versa. I went from wimpy tiny 12"X 25" Carlisle Titan 489's to 14" X 30" Mudzillas on my 2001 Arctic Cat 500 with manual shift, honestly I can't see any loss of power, it still turns redline in top gear, but before was 55 mph, now I can get 64 mph on the gps! Faster than I ever need to go, but now traction is so good, I only need 4wd in the worst mud or on ice, heck I can plow snow in 2 wd. So heavier, ok, but to me it's all about traction. If your Honda is manual shift like my AC, I don't there will be much of a penalty with heavier tires. If the Zillas are tougher (doubt it) or get better traction, then ok. If your bike is automatic, ok, then there is an advantage. Sorry for not knowing much about the Ranchers, my brother has 2 that are manual shift...

10lb per tire is big for a 26hp ATV.
I had 26" Zillas on my old 350 Bruin/Grizzly and felt no power loss over the stock 25" tires.
Honda Rancher have no low range just a super low 1st gear, so 2nd gear is tall for thick deep mud with oversized tires. The Zilla lighter weight will help though.
