How will 27" tires effect my ride?

Hey Guys,

I just bought a 2002 Grizzly and am thinking about putting on Blackwater XT's. I will also have to change to a wider wheel with a little more offset. I want to do this for the 6 ply rating and the LOOK! My question is, will the 27" tires have an adverse effect on the ride or will it be better?

Thanks
Arlan

It will not ride as smooth as the stock dunlops do, but it won't be too bad. Blackwaters are probably one of the better riding tires you can get in a 27" size. They are said to be a mud tire, but they are really just a big trail tire with deeper lugs. Of course their mud performance is not as good as many others, but their ride is going to be extremely better. Trail traction should be good as well. They are a 6 ply tire, but I have heard a few folks that did have a few problems with them. If you are not totally set on that tire, you might check out a Bear Claw in 27". I think they make that tire now. Good traction, and good ride also.
