Which do you all think is the better axle of the two? For what reasons? Which is better with their warranties? Thanks.

Lonestar, hands down!

Not only is their quality and warranty second to none, they are solvent and will be around for quite some time.

RPM just moved from the metro-Phoenix area to a small town in Central Arizona. Moves like this always worry me! Talk around town was they were having finanical problems and had to shut down to re-organize. Don't know this to be a fact, but why take a chance?

Lonestar has been around a long time and, due to their huge customer base, should be around for a long time to come!

Which has been in business longer? I want to get a realy good axle. The only thing I'm worried about is that if I buy an RPM Dominator, and break or bend it after purchasing it, RPM may not be in business. Then, I'll be stuck with a messed up, expensive axle.

Also, I've heard that the Lonestar is a little shorter than a Durablue or RPM. How much difference is there? I've been told only a half inch on each side, (1" total). Is this true? Thanks.

The difference in width in not enough to be concerned with.

Lonestar has been in business about eight years. RPM was in business about four before they shut their doors earlier this year. They then opened up in Prescott, AZ.

Since I live in Phoenix, I have been to both shops. Lonestar is packed with orders and outbound shipping. Without a doubt, go with Lonestar. Call them and ask for the owner, Dan Fisher. Tell him Rob R. with the blue Banshee from Rocky Pointe, Mexico sent you. I'll bet he will cut you a better deal than advertised!

Why take a chance with a company that is struggling?

I have spent over $15k at Lonestar and have never regretted anything. They are the best!

Goos luck!

well, ive had my LSR +4 axle for about a year now.. and well its already bent!!!! lately ive been hearing alot of complaints about LSr's fit and finish on frames, a-arms and whatnot. Ive also got a set of thier +2 a-arms, and thier nice, but the ones they gave me for my 400ex had grease zerks in the wrong spot so they hit the frame if the suspension moved....so i have to plug them and take the bolts out to grease them, thats a hassle too.. I've also got thier steering stem which has been a flawless part also... it just kindof gets me thinkin when a year old $330 axle bends over a 5ft jump in 2nd gear...
i dunno its up to you.. Id still say that RPM makes nice axles though, and LSr ciertainly has good costomer service, i dunno about RPM, never dealt with them.

I bent my Lsr axle on my first ride with it installed. A friend of mine bought an Rpm axle, and the sprocket hub had been pressed into the wrong place! I've had good luck with Durablue axles. They seem a little heavier, and some people say they are junk, but i've never had trouble with one. It always amazes me how poor the quality is on most aftermarket atv parts. Half the time, you need a Dremel and a sawzall to make the stuff fit!

I bought a lonestar 2+2 (which I sent back becuase it was too wide for XC, but I installed it before I noticed and I had to file like crazy just to get the chroming off the splines so one hub would fit and the chrome was chipping off on one side. I ordered an RPM and it is coated or parkerized which isn't as shiny as chrome, but durable as hell and absolute perfect fit. I order the race sproket hub which is extra thick and I have punished this axle and I am very happy with it....yes I paid through the nose for it.
