I have a 99 Yamaha Big Bear 350 4X4. Despite adjusting the valves to factory specs I still get an usual valve noise. It actually sounds like the vales are echoing (slapping/pinging) within the upper portion of the engine. The noise is definately coming from the inspection plates covering the valve area. This happens especially when the motor heats up. There is no performance problem that I can tell but the noise has me concerned. The dealer told me 99 Big Bears are noisy but of course they want $200.00 to check it out. Should I be as concerned as I am. Any information would be appreciated

$200.00!! ouch, I can get my quad fully serviced for $110.00 that includes motor oil change, front and rear diff. oil change air filter cleaning, spark plug and VALVE ADJUSTMENT.

Maybe the $200.00 was to do more than adjust the valves, but what more could be done? You would think they could replace the valves for $200.00.
