I just put a set of 27" ITP 589 M/S tires on my new 2002 Grizz 660. I think the size depends on your bike. On the Grizz we can get away with 27" and no clearance problems. I did't want a lift kit or spacers, they ruin the handling.

I had Goodyear MudRunners on my SP500 25". MudRunners ride a wee little bit smoother at very low speed below 5 mph. Beyond that, the ITP 589's feel the same to me. The tread on the ITP,s looks deeper than the MudRunners also. I mounted them on ITP C-Series cast aluminum wheels. This setup increase the overall width only slightly. I now measure 48-1/2 in front and 49" in rear. If you opt for aftermarket wheels make sure you check the wheel offset. Some can get really wide with the incorrect backspacing.

I use mine for snow plowing, utility work, hauling my butt and tree stand in and out of the woods on occasion in hunting season. One thing though, they do rip the hell out of the lawn. Maybe I'll keep the stock tires/rims for that stuff. Check the pix out. They really look good.

Uhh, Yeah, I noticed that lawn thing, too! I'm keeping the stock tires for use around the house, and the 589's for all other riding.

I think it has all been covered here. Did anyone mention that the 589M/T's are pretty good on the hard-pack stuff, too? The only downside that I found with these tires is the weight issue. Otherwise, they are an excellent, versatile tire. Buy the smallest(lightest)size you can for your application.

I just got my 26x9x12 and 26x12x10 ITP 589 m/s's today. The front tires(26x9x12) look awesome! I am not too impressed with the rears, however. I had read that the rear tires ran a bit small, but I didn't realize this much. Oh well. They look similar to my 25x11x10 stock Goodyear Tracker P's. If "I" did it all over again, I would order the 26" for the front and 27" for the rear. The only advantage is I may still be able to do some low-speed "playing" on my gravel roads w/o the loss of power I was expecting. Depends on the weight I guess, can't wait to find out. Overall, a good tire for the money. I got mine from RockyMountainATV.com, $302 for all for tires to my door. Thats not much more than the stock tire price. Hope this helps.

I put my 27" ITP 589's on stock ac650le wheels today and they measure 25"... I was wondering what other peoples 589's measured. I thought the stock wheels may have bulged the tire or I was ripped....Thanks!

My old 589s measured 25.5".
I cant believe nobody has mentioned mud bugs. IMO they are a much better trail and hill climbing tire than the 589.
