I am thinking about putting Maxis All Trak tires on my 650. I would like to here from those of you who have Maxis All Trak's on your quad. How do you like them? How durable are they? How long will they last/how many miles can you put on them before they where down? Are they pretty puncture resistant? How do they ride, and how do they handle? How good is the traction? How heavy are they compared to other after market tires? Lot's of questions I know, but I want to make sure that they are a good tire before I buy. I ride in dry conditions, loose dry dirt/sand, loose gravel/rocks, and hard pack. Lot's of hill climbs in loose dry dirt and gravel, and some sand dunes. Any info on these tires would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Any Maxxis sur-trak owners feel free to weigh in also. My main concern is the "2ply" of the sur-trak. Is this also their ply rating? If so what would make this tire more puncture resistant than the duflops? Thorns aren't an issue here but sharp broken rock is. Its either gonna be the Sur-traks or the Kenda Bear Claw. My dealer told me that he WOULD NOT mount the Bear Claws for me. Too hard to get on the rims!

I have been checking into these tires as well, according to the manufacurer,it is actually a 3 ply rating, which does make them last a little better than the stockers, and still ride great. I have heard from several people who use them on rocky area, and the tread really grabs the rock and climbs great. They also work well on the trail, and will allow you to get some sliding action in the corners!! But now the bad news--I just called Rocky Mt. ATV, and the Maxxis All Trac is backordered until the end of May!!! the lady there said they can't keep them on the shelves!! I was looking at the 25-8-12 and 25-10-12, larger sizes may still be in stock. If you know where I can get them at the low prices that Rocky has them for,let me know!!

Thanks 95wolv, the 25x8x12 fronts and 25x10x12 rear is the size I want as well. That sucks that they are on back order for so long, I wonder if any other supplier happens to still have some in stock? I hope some of these people that are buying them all off the shelves are on this forum, and will at least let us know how well they perform I also want to know how much they weigh. The stock Dunlop’s on my 650 weighs 14 lbs each for the front, and 17 lbs each for the rear. It would be nice to know how much weight I will be adding, as well as their actual height when mounted. I wonder if they will be shorter or taller than the stock Dunlop’s? Hope some buddy can answer are questions and help us out. I e-mailed Maxis about the weight of the All Trak's, but I have not heard back from them yet.

I know for sure they run a bit shorter than the stated size, you may want to go to 26 inch to keep them close to stock size, that's one of the reasons I'm going with Maxxis,my quad came stock with 23's,and I don't want to over tire the drivetrain with too much tire. I've heard the 25 Maxxis runs almost an inch shorter,so you for sure will want to get the 26 inch to keep the size close.

I don't think that Maxxis make’s a 26-inch tire in the All Trak. Thanks for the info though. I wrote to Maxxis, asking them questions about the All Trak. Once they respond, I will post the info on the forum if you guy's like. Just let me know.

Hey guys, from my experience with the Maxxis Sur Traks I have been very pleased. They are light weight, and even though they may be rated at 2-ply, I've run them on sharp rocks, thorns, fallen tree stumps with NO problems, NO punctures at all. I had the 25x10x12 in the rear for 2 years and I just recently moved up to the 26x12x12 in the rear and moved the 25's to the front. I got mine from RockyMountain also. I have 4psi in the rear and 6psi in the fronts, they both measure the same. I'm sure the All Traks would be the same. Hoped I helped some, Chris.

One other thing, on the packaging list from UPS, the 2 26" tires I ordered weighed just under 31lbs. Also, the 26" tires are actually a little over 26" tall, the 25" are in fact a little over 24" tall. That info can be found on Maxxis's website.

CheckTreadepot.com, They usually have tires in stock and they get them in quicker than Rocky Mountain and Dennis Kirk. The maaxis alltracs are actually made by cheng shin, when you get to the link click on atv tires, then allterrain tires. Click on the model that you are looking for then click on the size to bring up all the tire specs including weight. The weight for the alltracs 25X8X12 is 22 pounds and the 25X10X12 is 21.5 pounds. Hope this helps you fella's out. By the way I have the surtracs and they rock! They are a great all around tire.
