Yep-- I've heard good things about the G.Y. Rawhides. Hear they do well in the clay-mud we have in S.E. Ohio. Too bad Polaris is the only manufacturer to put "real" tires on their bikes!

HEy trane we have 27 inch bearclaws on our 650 and we drive the same as you, mostly hardpack trails and little mud. They work great and we noticed no power loss. they handle good but just keep them pumped up good so that the side lugs dont grab.

you should consider the HIghlifter radial outlaws they are just made for your riding conditions. You can look at them at www.highlifter.com

trx450, Maybe once every 5 years. Might stick for 1 day. He!!, these people around here take off work like it is a crisis! You should come down and watch them drive in the stuff.

2fat-- These idiots around here forget how to drive in snow from season, to season.!!! It IS FUNNY to watch'em in the first serious snow of the winter! It is a body man's wet dream!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never ride in sand ONLY, so I don't know how the 589's handle there. What didn't you like about them in the sand?

Well, the sand I am talking about is at the river here in a certain area. I figured it is like the sand at sand dunes. It is real loose. If you walk in it your feet will sink about to the ankle. You really need a paddle tire for what I am talking about. So with that in mind, if you give a little throttle, you dig. Must hit hills in this area wide open if you want to make it to the top. Mostly sport bikes ride here, (5 or 6), & the other hundred or so utility quads & dirt bikes ride through the woods & on the sand bars. I do like riding in this area because of the neat way they have made the trails. Oh well, very small area, about a square mile, & other trails go on for ever.
