Tire question for 450 S
#1
Hi guys, wanted to get some input on some new tires for my Foreman 450S. Right now I just have to factory Dunlop tires on it. A little info on what kind of riding I do... I do not do alot of heavy mudding, the occassional crossing of a semi dried up creek bed is about as much as I do. Of course any tire will be better in mud than what I have now. Also where I live and ride...to get to some of the trails I ride I have to travel a couple of miles on a old paved back road. Doing this the dunlops have lasted me a little over a month and might as well be racing slicks now. lol Also do a little sand riding because I live a couple of miles from an old river beach. So basically what I'm looking for is a tire that will be decent in mud and sand (not the best mud tire) and stand up to a little pavement riding. I have had some suggest Dirt Devils....never rode on these before. Got a quote from a local shop at $45 a piece to fit my factory wheels. What do you all think? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

signguy....i have mud bugs on my 450s and they aren't the most aggressive tire out there but they do good in the mud AND sand......as far as them wearing out on pavement i can't tell you...all i ride on is gravel roads and they are still fine.......if you DO decide to get the dirt devils be sure to ask for the XT model..it has a little bit more grip than the AT model tires........hope this helps......Roadkill

Check East Kentuky Motorsports on the internet. They are great to deal with and have low prices. Buy a good tire and do not scrimp on the price. A good tire is worth the extra bucks.

I had 26" Mudrunners on my 450ES, and have since installed them on my Rubicon. So far, they have over 1500 miles on them with very little treadwear. They perform great on all types of terrain. I'm really impressed with them, and highly recommend them.

Mud Bugs are real agressive tires and wear badly on pavement because of such an open tread and tall lugs which flex bad.A good tire is the Maxis All-Tracks, which dont have big lugs or are a very open tread. They are also a flat style tire which is always good on pavement.I do alot of road driving and my all-tracks are just starting to wear after about 1000 miles.
