For now I was hoping to buy the shocks first the arms later. Im not sure of my price range just want realy good shocks. also can the stock arms be lenghtened/modified. and has any one moved the shock mounts on the frame to accomidate longer suspension

You are under the misconception(as a lot of people are!) that more travel is better no matter what. Well, I hate to burst your bubble but you are a little misguided. My front shocks have about 10.5 inches of wheel travel and I bet you would hate them because they are not setup for trail riding. You really need to get a BRAND NEW set of shocks that are setup for your weight and style. Pretty much any brand you buy will be setup exactly for you and they will definitely be a vast improvement over stock. If you really want the scoop on shocks, you need to check the "How to Setup your Suspension" thread. Me and a few other guys have been going back and forth in that thread for some time now and there is tons of valuable info in there that everyone can use. Hope that helps, if not just ask!

If you want to really know what people have thought when using ohlins, works, tcs, or pep, check out all the posts in the past year. There have been countless posts about aftermarket shocks. Works would probably be fine for your riding style, but I guarantee if you read all the posts about shocks, 90 percent of them say how great tcs shocks are. I own a set of tcs, and they were a world of difference between my stockers. I dont want to start another debate between tcs and pep or tcs and works because there have already been lots of them. As for modifying your stock a-arms, i dont know nothing about, except to get wheel spacers. You should read my post about those before you go and get them, though. I hear they suck.

I race in the GNCC series and I have TCS on my 400EX. I think they are great they eat up alot more than the stockers did, but all aftermarket shocks will. They are custom made to your riding type and you weight and have 26 compression adjustments. Call Graydon Proline, CT Racing, K&K ATV they all sale them.
