New calculator for gearing and tire sizes.
#1
Hey guys. I got a R a few weeks ago. It was a monster with the 22" Pro Wedge 2's on the rear. The gearing was 13/40. Well....I bought some 18's. I totally lost my holeshot. I reaches out for help here to see if I could get back to that exact same final ratio while factoring in my gears and tires.
Well..Mojaveaddict from here helped me out...he showed me how to work the numbers. Anyways...I made a really cool calculator in MS Excel. All you have to do is put your old tire height in inches in....and your front sprocket size....and rear sprocket size....and she'll tell you what gearing ratio (and sprocket sizes) you need to get really really close to that holeshot you had before you changed sizes. None of the other calculators on the other sites do that.
I wish the boss here could put my calculator up here....if anybody wants it...let me know....
Thanks again Mojaveaddict!

20" are 9% smaller than 22" tires. I don't know how many teeth it would be on your sprockets, but if I'm not mistaken it needs to be a 9% difference.
P.S. ScreaminTRX hasn't posted on the forum since 2002, so don't expect an answer from him.
