Default Ball Joints

I am putting some Laeger's A Arms on my '86 250r and noticed that honda calls for you to use a Ball Joint Remover. I don't really want to go out and spend $140. What are my other options for getting them off? Thanks, Ryan.

BFH oughta do the trick...just make sure you use a nut to protect the threads and a dead blow hammer

Even better than hitting the ball joint would be to put a jack stand under the spindle and hit the A-arm as close to the ball joint as possible with a BFH! This will eliminate damage to your ball joint and if you are careful, you won't damage your old A-arm at all.
