lonestar or dura-blue axle? which is better?
I've spent some time researching the lonestar axcalibur and Dura-Blue eliminator axles. I personally have not purchased one yet, but I have bent my stock one and am in the market.
From what I have gathered, the Dura-Blue is cheaper, but if you read about their warranty, they only cover the first axle bending and breaking, then give you a so called "dealer discount" of $175.00 for axles there after. I can purchase these all day long through suppliers for $179.00. The Dura-blue is also chrome plated, which tells me that it will eventually rust. I have also read an arcticle online the said a great majority of the axles that broke in the nationals where Dura-Blues. Now keep in mind, if 80% of the racers were using Dura-Blue axles, that would justify itself. I am unaware.
On the other hand, the Lonstars axcalibur appears to have a true lifetime warranty. If you bend/break it, they will continue sending you new axles. Plus, they are made of High tensile strenghth aluminum, they will not rust, and if you straighten them from bending, they don't lose their tensil strength.
Lonestar and Dura-Blue aslo make axle carriers. I can't find much information on the differences between them. Who's the Guru!
Spiff
400 EX, WP triple rate resevoir shocks, azonic bars, rox risers, ITP holeshots, magura hydrolic clutch, K&N power kit, rev limiter,
