Default bear claws

I am looking at the Kenda Bear claws, are they a good mud tire and does anyone know what the tread depth is. I can't find it anywhere from any sights. I'm looking at 25x12x12 and 25x8x12.

Bearclaws are an ok mud tire but an excellent all around tire. Their tread depth is about 3/4" deep, maybe 1".

I have Bearclaws on my Vinson. They are an excellent all around tire. I can't tell the difference in terms of performance and handling between them and stock. They weigh around 22lbs each, not sure what stock weighed, but like I said they didn't slow me down or affect my riding stability. They are ok in the mud, not really a mud tire, but able to hold their own. The best thing about them in their toughness. I ride over a lot of sharp sticks and cutover timber. The claws have not failed me yet. This is an area where my stocks were flat after the first 1/2 hour ride (no exaggeration).

I got the 25" claws so that I wouldn't lose any speed. I would recommend that you get the 26" tires given how stable they are. Also, note that like most other tires they are not "true" sized, meaning the 26" tires are really lower than that. The same is true of most tires except for Maxxis.

Maxxis?? Maybe with Zillas or something, but Mud Bugs run big time small.

I like the bearclaws myself. They are not the best mudtire, but will do OK. But they won't beat you to death while on the way to the mud pit. When I got these, I heard that the compound that was used was a softer compound, so I was wondering about the durability of these...wonder no more. I ride about 5 miles of blacktop to my favorite trails one way, and the tread still looks great. If you wanna see them mounted, I have just a few pictures on my website if you wanna check them out.
