Default Quickie Trip - what do you recommend?

I am thinking about heading south for a spur of the moment trip Sun, Mon, come back Tues night. From Tacoma, should I go to Sand Lake and where should I stay or to Coos Bay. We don't have paddles, but we've ridden Winchester and had no problems as long as we don't get too rad.

Suggestions, hook-ups? Will be traveling with my boys 4 and 11, and Realty Rider.

Peace!

Marci

Go to Coos Bay,

You'll get bored at Sand Lake if you stay there more than a day. Your best bet for camping would be either Spinreel or Horsfall. (Horsfall has showers). Or...there is a KOA campground located about halfway between them.

Have fun!!

Wow that is a long drive... I complain when I have to drive 3 hours from Portland...That is dedication. But I agree with Chad... Stay away from Sand Lake.. It gets boring real quick. Drive the extra couple of hours.

there is honeyman in florence and they have showers and hook ups but you will have to trailer over to the jetty this time of year.

Sand dune Frontier doesn't have hook-up but you can ride out from camp. The camping there is good (more secluded than most places) but the restroom situation isn't the greatest. We usually have at least three 5th wheels there so we can use the bathroom in them, otherwise your poopin in the Schultzy.

Discovery Point at Winchester has hook-ups and you can ride out of camp. Just bring ear plugs cause that damn sound buoy gets annoying.

Spinreel is cool, not many big dunes on that side but there's a ton of trails and the kids would love Swing hill.

KOA campground isn't bad other than the long **** ride to get to the dunes. They got hook-ups/showers and a little arcade room to entertain the kids.
