No you should be fine. I have seen a ford 2wd w/20s out in the dunes. but its probably pretty tore up after last week end.

Airing down 20's ain't gonna do crap 'cept maybe let sand between the tire and wheel.

Check out the tide charts and time your arrival to get there at low tide, and plan on leaving at low tide unless the sand looks good otherwise. Drive on the hardpack, and don't go past post 2 in your truck, unload there and ride the bike out to the dunes. Make sure you park up high enough that your truck doesn't float away though. If you feel yourself getting stuck, DON'T floor it! Just give 'er a little juice and ease her out. Momentum is the name of the game.

Hope that helps.

dabeechman: Yeah, I know, I guess the sarcasm didn't come through. All I'm saying is, you have to have a sidewall to bulge for airing down to do much!

Dude, I drive a 2 wheel drive, REAR wheel drive mitsubishi mighty max. the thing is so light in the back end that it actually slides on the road when it rains. I air down to about 10 psi a piece on my tiny tires, and I make it out there no prob. The quad in the back does help with the weight on the sand though. I've even made it through some of the softer stuff during high tide. I'm heading out tomorrow (the 16th) and I probably won't even air down. If my truck can make it, ANY truck can make it. Plus there are plenty of people there more than willing to help ya out bro.
