What Has Happened To Pismo?????

I agree.. they do seem smaller, however, I've been there when they are larger and sharper. I guess it may have something to do with the wind... and whether or not the crowds destroy em on the weekends or not.. haha! It's still a great place to ride....

you need to visit Glamis or Dumont, those are some dunes, guarenteed that you will not climb all of them..
On a scale from one to ten, Pismo being a 3, will Glamis and Dumont are 10.s..

It's beat-up! Too much non-stop activity. It's getting way more action/use between the holiday weekends than it ever used to get. The SUV's and trucks are really breaking it down at a rapid rate. Their the primary reason Comp Hill is being wiped out as well as most of the other dune crests. Most (not all) of that crowd are a bunch of (loser) kids, hell bent on destruction and littering. I started thinking about this and I think the dunes would be better off if they had a way to limit it's use to only ATV's, Motorcycles, Odessy's/Pilots and dune buggy's. One instance of this is "Holister Hills SVRA park in Northern Calif. It has a separate area for the SUV's/Trucks to ride on. This keeps large vehicles (Trucks/SUV's) grouped up in a separate area which keeps 4.000Lb plus vehicle's from running over a smaller motorcycle/ATV's (200Lb-400Lb). Or... maybe if they cut back on the camp site total from 1,000 to say 750.... Im not a tree hugger, just someone who wonders if things are maybe getting a little out of hand @ Pismo. I'd hate to see mine or some one else's kid crushed ..... Just wondering..... any thoughts...

Ya know...things are real messed up out there right now...I think its because of the heavy traffic. I know a lot of people from the central valley that head up there every weekend to escape the heat. So...things might look better this winter...

That or they could let us drag out the whooped up sections on the flats and get rid of that damned lauch ramp in the middle. Too bad its against the law to alter any part of the dunes (I.E. making a drag to smooth the flats out)
