Planning Anniversary Dune Trip - Need help...
Just talked to grandma about watching the kids. So long as she says yes, Glamis it is. Only bad part, regardless of where we go, we can't leave until Saturday (can't miss the kids in their costumes) and it's a (10) hour drive. Oh well, we'll ride Sunday and Monday.
Thanks!

Planning Anniversary Dune Trip - Need help...
I did the Glamis/Dumont trip last year. Glamis is good no better then Utah or Idaho and Dumont was okay at best. I would go back to Glamis, but not Dumont..It's riding area isn't very big and the dunes are very intimidating, steep!! Steep as in the big dunes at Saint Anthonys.

Well, it looks like Glamis is the spot. Any suggestions on a particular place to go/camp? Where does everyone go when there? Oldsmobile Hill? We'll get there @ ~ 6:00 pm on Saturday evening. We'll plan on riding all day Sunday and partial Monday, then heading for home. Who knows, we may stay Monday and leave for home early Tuesday.

If you want to avoid the crowds try Buttercup or Gordons well (right across the highway from each other) instead of glammis. Same dunes, easier to get to, less people. Gordons well is a good choice because of its close proximity to the sand drags and to compitition hill. Buttercup seems to have bigger bowls and you can camp closer to the larger dunes. Either way YOU WILL HAVE A BLAST!!!
