I 'am in the market for a set paddle tires and I'am leaning torward the SandSkate 2. I hear they are the best because of there cut and design. I was also wondering the the widest I can go in the rear for stability I'am gonna get some ITP rear wheel. I was just wanting too know the best width for hill climbing. THANKS.

the best paddles for hill climbs and altogether duning are skat trak haulers. 8 or 10 in. wide would be best.

I just got a set of Sand Stars and they were awesome this weekend at Glamis. Great handling and turning and went up hills with no problems. Best paddle I've ever ridden on.

Skat traks are far and away the best paddle you can buy, but they are also the most expensive

Sand skate II's are a good sand tire... they handle great, and have the best forward hook-up of any of the V-blade tires... I like them for a play machine..

They don't hook-up as well as the skat trac haulers for drag racing... but they are alot cheaper too.

In fact, there's a pair on ebay right now going cheap! Good shape too!! (Yes, they are mine)

Regards,

If "all" your going to do is go straight (Hill Climb/Drag race) then the straight paddles are the best. But, for all around riding the angles are the better type. The angled paddles turn better under power, and also slide better. I have the Skate II's and for all around dune riding their great. Also, there's been articles in the magazines where they tested both types head to head. In that testing, the straight paddles only had a very slight edge over the angled type when dragging or hill climbing.

I have always had better performance with my Skat trak haulers, than with an "V" shaped tire. Turning is no issue, and I have never gotten stuck on a hill due to loss of traction
