Default trx 250r crank?????

Just found out my crank is toast. Anyone have any experience w aftermarket cranks? If I get a stroked crank will I need to do any machining? Who builds good cranks?

If you get a strocked crank, Yes you will have to have some maching done. Call Eddie Sanders on that one. If you don't go strocker. Stay with the STOCK OEM CRANK!!! It's the best & most reliable. Oh yeah, And what year crank & rod do you have?? Either the 86 short rod, Or the 87-89 long rod????? Just wondering

Its an 86. After doing some searches I think I will use a longrod stock crank from an 87-89. I plan to do a ESR powervalve sometime in the near future so I need to talk with my builder about the pros/cons of a stroker motor. Thanks for your help

Yeah if you stay with a stock crank I would go with a 88-89 crank & rod. And run a 88-89 piston. That set up would work with any stock year cylinder. 86-89 trx cylinder that is. It's just a better set up in my opinion.
