What kind of mods do you have on your Rappy?
Winchester is about 6- 6 1/2 hours from where I live (just south of Seattle).
As far as mods go, I just have bolt on stuff right now. I do mostly MX, so top speed isn't really an issue for me. The craptor has a full LRD system with the proflow K & N filter and I am trying to save up for new a-arms and shocks. +2's should work well!

Which bike do you prefer for the dunes?
Rappy or the YFZ450?

Demented,
It's really hard to say which one I prefer for the dunes because I like both of them. If I had to chose just one, I would probably chose the 450, at least for the type of riding I like to do. They perform very differently from each other and the YFZ has a lot of mods done to it. In stock form, the top speed is pretty equal. The 450 is made for getting the holeshot and gets the rappy off the line, but the rappy will chase it down. With stock suspension, the Rappy is a plusher, more comfortable ride, that is great for going on group rides where you aren't "full on" all the time. But the YFZ definitely has the handling and weight advantage. The YFZ likes to be ridden hard, the more you push it the better it performs. It isn't just for putting around and is a great jumper. Eventually, I do plan on trading in the Rappy for another 450.

Are you thinking about getting a 450?
