Oregon duners

I heard the decible limit was 93 at the oregon dunes. This seems pretty low. Is anyone running an R4 on a Raptor that could tell me what the decible is. Also, does the spark arester screen lower the decibles at all.
I'de hate to drive all the way out there from N. Dakota to find out I'm too loud.

Hey Starkey,
I just got back from Oregon, I took my raptor it's got DMC alien exhaust and is louder than 93 dec I'd guess. I was there on the 20th (sat) lots of peps, I never saw anybody out checking decibles. I had the same worries but when you get out at the ocean the waves drown out the sound(Horsfalls) I went all over the place . Hope you got some sand tires youl need them to pull up some of them hills

The DB meters are far and few between. I used one once in Tillamook for work. There were only two in that county when I was there (working). Unless you are ripping through a quiet area, I wouldnt worry about it. There is no "check station" as you get there.
Take it from the bear, you are 99%safe.

Thanks guys. I should be there on the 20th. Have to hit St. Anthony's on the way. I'm looking forward to seeing the west coast again. I have an ATV mag. from last year with an article on Winchester Bay. It looks awsome. I guess I will probably go there unless someone tells me there is a better spot. I'll probably be there a few days, so I'll hit as many spots as I can. I'll be watching for ATV Connection flags. Hope you guys got yours.

Go West until you hit water. (J/K)
The top spots are located in Florence, Winchester Bay and Coos Bay, with a few scattered in between. Winchester Bay has the tallest Dunes, but is smaller (In area) than Florence and Coos Bay is the largest and farthest South.

STARKY-While it is true that winchester has the tallest dunes coos bay and florence have a lot more area to ride with a lot of varied terrain. You can not ride the beach at winchester so if you were planning on a beach ride you may want to look at florence or coos bay.As far as sound checks go you will probably not be checked because there are not many rangers that perform the test just dont volunteer like i did( yes i know stupid move).
