Silver Lake 11th, 12th, 13th

went up to silver lake the weekend of the 11th, 12th, and 13th. it was me, my buddy, and my dad. i was riding my moto-4, my dad his z400, and my buddy his lt80.
the z had no trouble anywhere. it has tons of power and is really fast. a great dune machine i hope to get one too, soon! i did manage to get it stuck crawling up a steep hill from a standing start, but thats teh only time it got stuck. a really great machine.
my moto-4 did have some trouble. first, it has stiff suspension that really jars you around. second, it just doesnt have the kind of power you need in teh dunes. sure, it was nice for just cruising, but had trouble on the steep hillclimbs. i got it stuck several times. its a great machine to get started on, but lacking when it comes to the sand.
the lt80 did good for its size, but just couldnt keep up. it did suprise us with some of the hillclimbs it made up, but my buddy couldnt make it up some of the steeper hills me and my dad could. it got stuck several times. considering its a mini, it did really well, but towards the end of the ride you could tell my buddy was tired of being left in the dust.
it was one hell of a weekend, but for next time we hope to have some new machines. me, im looking for a z400, my buddys looking for a 250ex or a z250, and his dad also wants to get something. hes leaning towards a raptor i think but im not sure.
anyway just wanted to say it was a great time and what do you guys think of silver lake?

Cool . Nice to hear you had a great time. I'm still a little cloudy where silver Lake Dunes is at. Is it on the 15 freeway. Going towards Vegas, Laughlin, Nevada? Is it by the freeway? See signs like OHV area? Thanks it'll help to give me a visual where it's at...

Glad to hear you had a blast @ silver lake! I was there with a bunch of people for the last weekend of June we had a blast as well!
Were the dunes still rounded off on the tops? That was the only disappointment I had was that this year they are so rounded off that you can ride right over them and not catch any real air on them, and that the whole drag area and beach were under water from the excessive amount of rain we have had this year. All in all still a great place to ride and enjoy quaddin'!!!!!
