My friends and myself are heading out there for the last weekend of August. I was wondering who has been out there in the past week or so that can give me an update. As far as how are the dunes (flat-tops, slight peak, peaked, razer-backed). how is the drag strip, still under water? is the beach still flooded as well?

Anyone else from the forums going to be there that weekend?

I was there Sunday, the sand was dry and soft. razors are forming. I had a blast running the peaks, last time I was there, there were no peaks. the drag strip has moved to a different area, the old strip is still underwater, the beach is still damp with lots of puddles. I made the best of it by blasting down the beach trying to dodge the puddles, boy did I get wet. The young guys in the group were skimming across the top of the water where the old dragstrip is, hitting it in 4th, skimming across the top.

 

Sweet sounds a ton better than when I was there early this summer... Now I really cant wait to go back! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

Man the dunes were peaky the last 2 days. Be carful your first couple runs i hit the top of that big dune on the left when you first come in and it droped str8 down at the top and i went over the bars. The last dune i hit to fast and got lauched 35 feet. (landed that one). Just be careful because it only take a few hours for the dunes to change.

 

Man I hope they stay that way..... last time I was there they were flat to very slightly rounded on the top and you could pretty much roll right over top of them pinned and never catch any air.

 

do you mean august 27th, 28th, and 29th, beacuse if so i will be there that weekend. if im lucky, ill have a raptor, but if im not, ill still be riding the moto-4. but it will be a blast either way.

 

Yeah actually will be there the 26th thru the 29th.
