well if you tampered with the frame, but that wouldn't be very easy, i would own a ds if it wasn't so heavy, but why did u post this under the dune section, LOL everyone my dad brougt his new grizzly and my uncle brought his new fyz to the dunes. THE YFZ WAS AMAZING!!!! the grizzly was funny

Thanks for the reply. The reason I posted here and not on the performance mods and project quads is the DS is more of a dune machine than anything. I think I asked the same question on the Bombardier board a year or so ago and didnt get a response. Anyways, could you give me an idea of what kind of modifications could be made to seriously shave some weight?

Ive just about hit the 100 lb. mark. But, I m set up for drags and light dune riding. My plus 8 swingarm is only 9.2 lbs. I run Marvin Shaw shocks, which are extremely light compared to the stockers. Almost 38 lbs right there. I also machined my hubs and went with the 520 non oring chain. I also changed my motor mounts to all aluminum. These things along with a custom battery box and a few other items, we are close to the 100 lb. mark.
Its a long process to complete, but worth it.
