Default riding the dunes.

Had my 400ex made into a 426 with a hot cam. Now it hauls a$$ up Test and Pattons but with the new mods it gets so hot I have to let it cool down after 3 or 4 runs up the hill. Any one else have the same situation? Going to get rid of it and get a liquid cooled 450.
Thanks.

Killer.... I've seen 400's run pretty damn fast.

It might be too lean.
Or to make it run a bit cooler... run race gas, and richen it up a tad. Between the two... it should make a big difference.

Thanks.
The jetting is right. Guess I should try the race gas.

A 426 should not run much hotter than when you were stock but as was mentioned you should check your jetting and run high octane fuel if you are any higher on your compression than 11:1.My wife has an 11:1 440 and we run it very hard all summer long at the dunes with no over heating problems but we also run fat mains(165-175),just a little food for thought .

It is 11:1:1. The guy who built it said the jetting is right. Might get a second opinion.
I run 91 octane. Highest pump gas in So Cal.
Thanks for the advice.
