yeah i think that it would be pretty hard to serve alcohol or liquor on the property of a state park
at least it would be here in TN

Little Sahara Recon Day Trip: Arrived at NOON Sunday March 13 / Left at 6 PM.....ALL RESERVABLE PLACES WERE BOOKED FOR THE WEEK PRIOR AND DURING SNAKEHUNT.
Saw the new Trail that goes into town but is NOT OPEN YET...they say it should be by Snakehunt. It goes into a city park in town near where the Snakehunt Festivities are held. The Parking along the entrance road to the north campground is no more; they have placed bollards and Cable to keep the shoulders of the road open and free of campers and parking.
When we arrived at noon Sunday March 13 all of the electric/water spots were occupied by this weekends use.
Good Luck trying to hang out w/ any type of campsite if you are just arriving....I see HUGE problems with OVERFLOW and the LACK of services for such a large crowd.
I wish the STATE of OKLAHOMA STATE PARKS DEPT. would WAKE-UP!
Create more primitive camping areas adjacent to the park....the land is there. Budget shortfall HA! Open some pay spaces and take in more money!!!!!
Anyway, I am still going but will have to arrive very very very very very very early.
Oh, the sand was great temp today was 50 and some wind.
There was a dyno working today and the elec/water hook-up campgrounds were full.

From past experience the crowds will be gone...smart money arrives Sunday after Snakehunt and gets free firewood & pick of the spots to camp in!

yea, you should pretty much have the place to yourself by then, if you just want to ride around the dunes with a few buddys and hang out.

REPORT FROM EASTER AFTERNOON: I ran out to act like a SOONER and claim a spot. ELECT/WATER SPOTS ARE ALL TAKEN....SAND RAT Security Guard SAID THEY STILL HAD SOME SPOTS?!?HMMM THEY TOLD ME A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO THEY WERE BOOKED FOR SNAKE HUNT.
O well. I claimed and paid up a primitive spot which I believe is a good one...one of the ones w/ a shelter table and water, fire ring and grill in the hollow up against the dunes. Northside near the dune entrance shack.
They have not blocked off the north entrance road shoulders completely yet and there were three groups set up there already. One side of the road has a cable on the shoulder and the other does not and that where they were setting up. There were several good spots (primitive) available when I got there at 4pm today.
When I left at 8pm there were still a couple (less than 10) for the whole park both N & South campgrounds.
I am freaked out it is so early and all the spots are occupied. Lil Sahara power sports has a neat setup w/ their new spaces up on a hill behind the old Oasis...should be a good veiw if its not too awfully dusty.
I set up a tent w/ a ATV Connection.Com sign of sorts on it and will get a better one fab'd up by Thursday.
Ampride Gas Station has a big lot behind it and thats where we day parked last year. Also there will be primitive sites available in town via the new trail....BUT!!!! ITS GONNA BE CLOSED AT NIGHT AND ALL FORKING DAY SATURDAY!!!!????WTF? DAYLIGHT USE ONLY AND CLOSED ON THE BUISIEST DAY.
SCOPE IT OUT AT WWW.CITYOFWAYNOKA.COM
ALSO GOOGLE FOR WAYNOKA.COM and scope that out as well.
Gonna be nice weather this week hi's in the 60's and lows at night in the 40's slight rain maybe Thurs.
Holler if you want more info that I may be able to help w/.
See you there....
