Default Paddles for a Modified Raptor - Need Input Please

I've got a stock bore 11:1 raptor, fcr's and a 6 inch swinger. I used to run 20x10-10 extremes with 10 paddles and a +2 swingarm. That was great out of the hole but I did notice the bike needed more power to push them up the hill. The light front end was the main reason I went longer with the swingarm. I'm a Michigan boy and from what I hear the sand at silver lake and other areas is much more sugary than that out west. What I'm asking for is some input for the size and number of paddles for my bike. I know the hot setup is a 7 or 8 paddle 22" extreme but I'm not sure if that's going to work best with the softer sand and considerably shorter races I'm dealing with. I'm not looking for triple buff drag tires, but I'd like to get more out of my setup. I'd love for some local guys to chime in and let me know what works at Silver Lake, but of course any input would be appreciated, thank you.

LAst year I ran 21" tires on 8" .125 rims 6 paddles reg haulers on my YFZ with a stock swingarm. It worked very well. If I had a longer swingarm I would go with 8 paddles 22" on 8" rims.

Whatever one you get, the 8" rim diameter helps. The tire balloons up and planes on top of the sand more at higher tire speeds. 10" rims keep more of the tire on the ground and creates more drag up high.

Narrowed it down to 22x11x8 haulers, just need to decide on paddle #. I'm afraid 8 wont get me out of the hole fast enough, but I dont want to bog the bike down with too many. I should be pushing 60+ hp with a 6" swingarm.

RMATV has 8 paddles for cheap and should be in stock before memorial, but I'm looking at 50-75 bucks more to order them elsewhere on wheels laid in.

I'm willing to pay the money for the right setup, I just dont want to regret my purchase like I did with the 20" 10 paddle extremes.

call www.smimotorsports.com he basicly stocks every skat-trak tire and I have never called and not had the tire I needed in-stock. plus he has prices that are about the exact same as rmatv. If I were you I would go with 22-11-8 8 or 9 paddle extremes bead to bead's if you have the $... the extremes are better cause they don't rip or wear down as fast but they also are heavier. you should be fine with 60hp though. goodluck!

SMI's prices are the same as everyone else's, and 100 dollars more to my door than the same set from RMATV. Jim's isnt answering their phone today, tried twice at two different times today.

I'm debating whether the 9 paddle b2b extreme is going to perform all the much better than a 22x11x8 hauler with 8 paddles std buff. If were talking lengths then I'm sold but I'm still in limbo as to how many paddles I should run and whether I want the lightweight of regular haulers or the reliability and strength of extremes.

And if I b2b buff the extremes is that going to significantly compromise the reliability of the tire? And is the weight savings enough to make a difference?

I dont mind spending the money, I just dont want to waste any or worse yet, end up slower because of it.

k found another place... inlandatv.com they were even cheaper. try them. I had the extremes b2b on my 416ex and they worked great with no issues. jmo smi's prices went up I believe, thats why they are the same as the rest but more options then alot of places.

we run a 22 x10x10 10 paddles on ours, we put on 10x8 wheel and it kind of helps round and balloon out the tire! This tire works really well for us, I actually have a new set on ITP C Series wheels if you are still looking !
