recently i put a durablue x-33 axle on my quad. its ajustable from -2" to +4".

i'm bedating putting on wider A-arms as well, but want to ask what the effect of a wider track is on handling?
also, how do they affect the frame? will they add significant stress & cause it to crack?

For duning or desert racing, wider and longer makes an incredible difference. I've got +1+2 A-arms, +2 swing arms, +4 axles on my Banshees. When you do this you need to budget for upgrading your shocks for the new spec.s

For the front, instead of wider A-arms, buy 2+4 offset wheels. I'm not familiar with LT250 wheel spacing but Yamaha, and Honda fronts are 4+2, giving a net increase of +8. If you don't have sand fronts, there are a lot of mail order places that sell Dune Trackers on Douglas .125 for $120, WAY cheaper than A-arms. Wind Mountain in UT will order the 2+4. Rocky Mountain will only do 2+3. It's true that A-arms give additional wheel travel that offsets don't, but unless you're into huge air, you don't need 13-inches of travel in the sand. Also, no doubt aftermarket shocks are cool and will ride better, but in sand the stockers are not over-burdened. In fact, I set the preload to the softest setting, and I weigh 205 lbs.

i already have the douglass .125 wheels on the front & rear. i'm not sure but i think the front are 2+3. i can't tell how much, but the rear wheels set out farther on the douglass wheels too. i agree it is the less expensive way to set track farther out.
i liked the feel of the axle on the +4 setting, but only tried it one day at the dunes, it felt more stable. i haven't been out riding it since then though.
the reason i'm getting the A-arms & shocks is that i may try MX sometime in the near future... spring maybe? it also lets me push harder in the dunes.
