Hi, duners!

Here's what's gonna happen next summer : the Quebec invasion!
We're gonna try to go duning in some NICE place (Glamis, Dumont...). What's the best for the real dune experience? Who cares about driving miles, driving 3 days or 4 anyways... If it really is a problem to go away that much time, we will do a first try at Silver Lake Dunes...but...Glamis just seems to be better
So, what is THE BEST duning place (in the US) ?

Zorro,
Glamis is the biggest best dune area in the world! If your planning on being here in the summer bring a big generator and air conditioner. The summer temps can reach up to 120 degrees!
The best duning time is between October and March.
Let me know when you come out and I will give you the full tour!

Whoa..."Dead Canadians Found in Desert". Summer is definitely a bad idea to visit Dumont and Glamis, unless you like to ride at night. You will certainly have enough room. We went to Glamis in August and were the only people there, private dunes. We rode at night and from 5:30AM to 9:00AM. Then it got too hot. Ran the generator all night so we could sleep. Good luck if you try it.

Glamis: Probably not the best in the world!
We have a group of American ATV riders in Saudi Arabia - we have some incredible sand dune riding areas around here. Almost all of it is virgin, with no people or vehicles. In the summer, we have to ride at sunrise to beat the heat, but the winters are beautiful.

Do you happen to have any pictures of these dunes? I would really like to see them. Riding pictures would be even better.

If you're going to drive long and far anyway, then yeah, I'd hit Glamis. I'd like to go there myself, this spring. If you're looking for some killer dunes in the summertime, where it's not 120 degrees, drive down to the Oregon Dunes in Coos Bay.
