Zorro,
Glamis is great but after April way to hot! Try St. Anthony's, ID, there's a great campground(KOA?) at one end of the dunes, grass, trees, bathrooms, full RV hookups. From there you ride right out into the dunes, its about a 30min ride to the big hills, and I mean big! Bring your paddle tires, they don't call it Choke Cherry hill for nothing! I think there's a St. Anthony website, just do a search on yahoo. The town is only 5 miles away if you need stuff. Outside of the big dunes, there's a large area of sand hills to play on from 5 to 25ft tall, so if you have any little one's they can play all day on those just outside of camp. Don't forget jets, it's around 5000 feet there. St. Anthony's is my favorite place outside of Glamis

Dumont and Glamis aren't that far away form each other(well not when you're already driving thousands of miles)-do both! Don't overlook Pismo either-my personal favorite. I live near San Bernardino. Glamis is 2.5 hrs. South East; Dumont is 2.5 hrs. North East; and Pismo is 3.5 hrs. West. You can look at a map and that might help you get a sense of the distances involved.

Hey all you guys who would like to go to Glamis in the summer but don't want to be the only ones there.
Last summer we made 3 trips to Glamis to race at Old's Hill. We did them on a Sat. night on or near full moon and took an industrial light tower to the hill and raced from dusk till dawn. About 50-100 people showed up (1st trip having the most)from AZ & So. Cal. and there were some very fast bikes present. The hill was well lit and headlights were not neccessary. As soon as the sun went down the temp. was fairly comfortable. The hill is very smooth in the summer from the wind and lack of use. On one trip Tom Darnell from Hyper-Tech (turbos) went out with us to dial in a couple of turbo Banshees.
We will most likely do it again next summer as well. If anyone is interested in going you can E-Mail me next June or so or check my website (MetalTechProducts.com)and I will probably post it ahead of time on events page. Sorry no pics. from last summer, my camera just picked up glare from lights.
