Default Never been to dunes

I live in Ontario, Canada and there is no real dunes around. I was just wondering if the sand is kinda like snow. Does it get bumpy when there's a lot of quads on it in a day? do little drifts form from the wind? I envy u duners a lot cause those pics i see on the net and dirt wheels look sick. I hope to go on a trip one day to go riding in the dunes.
