I wish, I love that place. I've made it there twice so far this summer. Our last trip was July 2 and 3rd. A huge storm rolled in on the 3rd and ended the day early. Hopefully I'll make it one more time this year. The 5 hr drive w/ these gas prices is brutal though.

A group of us are going to SLSD on the weekend of august 9th - 12th and will be staying at the state park campgrounds. Anyone else from here going to be there that weekend?</end quote></div>
Thats too bad, this will be the first weekend in 6 weekends that I won't be there. I live right in Hart, so it's only about 5 miles or so for me to get there. Have a good time there was a ton of people out there last weekend, make sure and get your vouchers early if you can!!!!

Yep, for Saturday and Sunday they limit the number of vehicles in the park by passing out vouchers the night before.
If you need to park in the lot you need to be in line around 8pm the night prior to be insured a spot. For the weekends I throw the quad in my truck and get a 'Dune Ready' voucher and drive right out there. There is a ton of info if you search 'Silver Lake Sand Dunes Info' on google. Find the MI DNR site and you can read about it more there.

Thanks mxzeatr. I didn't know anything about that. None of my friends want to burn up "the precious" gas to get there.</end quote></div>
that must be because they have never been there lol
or they would be singing a different tune

They have property and only ride trails near there. None of them wants to drive across the state.
