Raptor dune tires
#1
What’s the hot setup for a serious Dune'r on a Raptor? Not interested in straight hill shooting, but a full on dune tire setup for dune trails, roosting my buddies sideways and keeping the front wheels down in a turn.
At our last dune trip someone mentioned Skate II's on 10" rims were not tall enough for decent clearance for the swing arm / sprocket? Straight paddles (e.g. Haulers) pushed hard or did wheelies in the corners. Turning was off throttle only activity.
Ideas? What have you tried and what worked…

it sounds like you want some angled paddles. skate IIs are one of the best you can get, but they only come in 20" sizes. so, if you need more clearence go with some 22" skat trac edges and a 12 tooth front sprocket. the angles will help you turn. and if you really need some turning power get some tracker (one rib) fronts, or skat trac mohawks (one knobbie rib).

I tried everything, then I installed a lonestar +4 swingarm. Now I am running skat trak 22x11x10 8 paddle haulers. With a 12 tooth front sprocket.
The 10 paddle tires showed up monday, I am going to try them as soon as I get my bike back. (see transmission indigestion) My bike slides well, and wheelies when I want it too, but dont follow it too close it hurts.
