MXBUBS, probable the best thing to do is research the areas you are considering visiting (for example Utah and California are pretty hot in the summer months) choose one and take it from there. Probably the best dunes in general would be Glamis (big, popular), Utah (Big hill and bowls, pretty big), St. Anthony Idaho (steep hills, big bowls, pretty big) or Oregon coast (fairly good hills, lots of trees, ocean, moderate temps)...
Good luck, there are plenty of dunes to visit.

I guess it depends on the type of riding you do. We have awsome bowls that you can hit 80mph. Good camping, bathrooms, plenty of outside spickets of running water, good shade and camping. If you have a Banshee then you would be denying yourself the baddest sand hill in the country. Glamis is a great place I'm sure. It is bigger, but in this case doesn't mean it's better. It will be hotter there a lot later into the season. LS Utah will be running King of the Hill probably on Labor Day. Want to see those $20,000 Banshees and all those engine builders you read about, then there is only one hill to come to and see the show. Want to see a Dennis Packard "R" smoke everything???? Do not come any earlier then labor day.........Way to Hot!!!

Glamis will be unbearable till sometime in October, maybe later, last year at Thanks Giving it was in the 80's, I think some folks do go out there for Halloween but you have to check the forecast to see how hot it will be

The first big weekend for Glamis is Halloween, but it can be hot. If you go, go early, by Saturday it is completely crazy. Alot of people go out, because it's the first big weekend of the year, and they all have thier rides ready to go (nothing is broke).
