the unbreakable whip flag!
#1
Yesterday I went to St joe state park. Not really dunes but close enough I guess.Anyway I broke 3 flags within the first hour!after I broke the last one I was sitting out watching people drag race when A ranger came up and said I needed a whip flag.I told him how I had broke 3 20 dollar flags already that day.And he told me about a little end that U could slide the end of the flag in and lock it in place. So I went and bought one and within another 15 minutes that flag broke again. So We finnally got one to work while we where riding around for a little while. Then I saw a guy on a banshee who had a real thick flag with a red pole he said he bought it in wynoka oklahoma at little sahara.
I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this flag and could give me a phone #.
Thanks for any help!

The ones they sell at Duneland and Appletree at Silver Lake are really thick at the base and taper down to maybe a 1/4" at the top so it is lighter at the top and won't bend as much. I have been running the same two flags for the past four years. I just swap them around onto whatever I am riding/driving (bike, buggies, truck). I have laid a bike out with it on, hit trees (with the whip) in the back trails at Silver Lake and Little Sahara.

You might want to try going to Radio Shack and picking up one of there fiberglass 8 foot cb atennas and the spring they make to mount it cost is around 25.00 for both. We have been running this set up for about 10 years now and still have yet to break one. The atennas are also available in stainless steel if you want

My buddy found one.HE went to a harley shop and found a atv whip flag?Hmm.Anyway it is made of metal and telescopes out to about 8 foot.It has a spring on the bottom. It is exactly what I have been wanting.
Now I just have to get some paddle tires and a little more motor work and I will be all set!
Thanks for the help.

I second that comment on the flags from Duneland. I bought mine 2 years ago up the and they are thick. I think David Allen Racing ahs a web site to order online. Having lived in STL for the past 6 years I know those flags at St. Joe SUCK!!

<< yes i just came back from waynoka you can get one at jims sand toys it is about5/8 to 3/4 of an inch aroud and has a spring on it you cant break it >>
Right on. That is where we got both of our flags. Worth the 19.95. Check out my site for a TON of Little Sahara Pics. You can even see the quality flags in a few pictures. One real good one.

The flags from David Allen Racing are the ones to get. We were at Silver Lake this weekend and the DNR was refusing admission to people whose flag shafts were too flexible. The guy complained that he had just bought it and they pointed at DAR and said to get one over there and yo'll have no problems. We were dealing with 30-35 mph winds this weekend, so the flags were pretty bent just sitting still.
