Fastest at Glamis
#11
I always hear about the fast bikes at Glamis, but I wonder how the fast bikes around here would compare. For example, Berts Trailblazer with the 150HP snowmobile motor... no nitros, and no turbo... basically a stock snowmobile motor. I think he now has 25" paddles. Would his bike even be in the running with these 500CC banshees, or the turbo banshees? Just curious?

DS Buddy, are you refering to A&S racing's turbo banshee's. Their web page claims 126 HP but my guess is thats probably not enough HP out there. I've heard his motor with 670 skidoo cylinder was putting out 150 HP when the tires started smoking on the dyno!
I'd love to goto Glamis someday but couldn't stand to sit by and just watch. Does anyone rent modded out quads at glamis?

Look DS, Dan Hull was probably doing 85mph (actually 86 according to Dan) up the hill but the report is as follows:
Dan's turbo banshee with the selector switch for the alleged 90-130-160hp blew up. Now he is running on a different turbo and cannot get it dialed in. I guess the problem is that in your home State there are no hills so you cannot get the thing running on a hill.
Now, as for the mph thing. Here is racing education 101.
You can run the hill at 85mph but that does not mean you are the fastest up the hill. The bike that is quicker is the winner. Now, take the Legend from Trinity -- you know the one, the dark blue 500cc Banshee with the drag pipes -- it may only hit 75mph on the hill but the race is over for the turbo because it is not as quick. Ask Dan -- although he declined the offer to race the hill against the Legend, he knows and will admit that quick wins. Even if some year the turbo ran up the hill, all we need to do is add N20 and the turbo will be in the rear again.
Oh, by the way, the Legend is for sale in case you turbo boyz want dependable power.

Dan is a very nice guy. I have no problem with who gets up the sand first. YOU are the one who made this post that the TURBO is "Fastest at Glamis."
Anyway, I must give Dan credit though -- To build that turbo atv takes some serious brains.
