I know how you feel but I am worse. It is a five hour drive for me to get to some sand, and its not like Cali sand either. There are no big jumps or bowls but alot of hills and drag racing. I haven't been in about three months. I am even starting to miss the way the sand taste in my mouth after a spill.

Ward600R:

Ohhhhhh I know how you feel.... My last sand trip was Glamis right after Xmas and I'm starting to go stir crazy. I need to step into that... warm grainy stuff with my bare feet while taking a big breath of the moist ocean air (Pismo) followed by a serious gulp of cold imported beer.... Ah.... Later that evening after a day of riding the dunes... I'd be sitting in a lawn chair kicking it with a nice campfire listening to the waves crash in the background..... Ahhhhhh ya can almost see it.. taste it.. Sorry yet another trance.... again...

Rude Dog

Duning... it's like having sex... without getti'n dirty!

Awh!! YES!! the last time I went to the Dunes, I meet some Fellow ATVconnection riders at LS okla, and we were the Only ones riding at 4:00am. The night air was still, and 60 degree's, We stopped at the top of a dune,Killed our bikes, and watched T'Storms ALL around us(in the distance)the lightening was AWESOME!!. Just talking about our bikes and our everyday lives, and how DUNING is a Great! remedy for our STRESS!! Life is good at times like those!!! I will remeber that for a long time to come!

For all of you needing a sand fix, check out the 3 new pages of pics I put on My Web Site from my trip to Little Sahara, OK this weekend.

I'll be going next weekend to meet eraptiod & some others at Sahara. It's great only being 3 hrs from the dunes!!

Hey MOOSE, nice pics man, If i make it down this weekend, don't worry I'll have my "ribbon" on. and I'll be looking out, but as for right now, I have other plans(NO, their not my plans)LOL.

YZguy, its one of the coolest things about LS, training up and ripping thru the STEEP Tree trails! Going up and having to make a "S" turn in the middle of the climb, lossing your momentum and still having power in reserve to make it up to the top!

YZGUY
Like biggerisbetter stated, it is a STEEP hill climb that usually starts with about a 6-10' launch pad. Basically, you have NO run at it. You just have to launch the bike from the base of the hill.

There is usually no other way out, so if you aren't able to ride the quad out, you'd better have a lot of friends and a tow rope handy.

It is called a "tree-shot", because that is where you have to start...... from down in the trees.

If you don't have instantaneous power, and wheel-speed, forget it!

A lot of the hills require you to lean over the headlight (we like to call it "talking to your headlight(s)&quot in order to not flip the quad. If you don't lean, you will be avoiding the quad on the way back down!!!

Another great thing about the sand: no-one has to eat dust on group rides.

Best Pismo Experience: night riding in the fog; be afraid, be very afraid!
