Went to the Cinders this weekend, Awesome!

The Cinders are located near Flagstaff, AZ.. Old volcano, and the riding is awesome. Lush trees with trails that wind through them. Riding mainly on old volcanic rock with paddles (buy a cheap set though, they can get torn up) that is about the size of a marble. And some of the steepest and longest hills ive ever ridden. Going back in 2 weeks, and every 2-3 weeks thereafter for the summer. Awesome kick back spot, not real busy, yet anyhow...
If you are in AZ and want to hook up, lets go!

I dont think you will have a problem with paint, unless you follow real close behind someone, as they will spit rocks up behind them. As far as paddles, I had a pair of sand skates or sharks, I can never remember which, and they held up fine. I have been told that haulers will get chewed up rather quickly, but thats probably from hitting exposed tree roots, and not the hills themselves. We should hook up, I have some friends that plan on going quite a bit, in fact we are going the weekend of April 26th, you are more than welcome to join us!

Yea, it was quite dusty. Being unfamiliar with the terrain, I was quite a ways behind the leader most of the time. As far as $100 hill, I was actually pretty surprised. I didnt take my banshee, but rode a DS-650, which wasnt mine, and didnt even plan on trying to conquer that hill. When we were getting ready to leave, I told the owner, MichaelAZ, that I was going to hit the hill, with the plan of just hitting the bottom and turning around, sorta to mess with him. I ended up making it a quarter of the way and figured that the DS could indeed make it, so I turned around and made a serious effort. 2 runs later, I was at the top of $100 surveying the valley. Awesome view! Going back the weekend of the 26th of this month if anybody cares to join us..

HEy! I'm new to this forum, just joined. I'm looking for someone to ride with in Arizona. I live in New Jersey, but I'll be shipping my Banshee down to YUMA tomorow and ill be in Yuma, AZ on July 2. I want to mainly ride at BUttercup, Gordon's Well, or Glamis. Lemme know if anyone out there will be able to make it to the dunes to show me around or maybe even keep me company cuz its my first time out there. THankS!
