Who do you think would win in the dunes me on My Blaster or a Stock 400EX. Take into consideration that i am only 100 pounds and with a 200 pound rider i have a 150 pound weight advantage. So with my Toomey Pipes i have 25hp check the website if you don't believe me. And a 400EX has about 27. So using those specs i have a much bettter Power to weight ratio. And in the dunes that is very important.

You do have an overall power advantage against a 400EX in the sand when you take the weight factor into account. I think you'll do well against a stock one, but beware you don't overheat your machine because there is a very heavy load placed on your machine when riding in the sand. If your "high flow" air filter is a K&N make sure you at least have a prefilter on it. Whatever it is, make sure it is cleaned regularly and oiled properly because this will make your engine live much longer. If you are going to a area away from home where it is much warmer than in Alberta, be prepared to rejet. You may want to rejet to run in the sand because you will be running at wide open throttle much more so than in the dirt.

Thanks for replying. And finaly i found someone who thinks i would do good in the dunes against a 400EX no seemed to believe me at atvnews forum. And ya its acually not a K&N air filter its what comes with the toomey kit. Its like a 2stage foam airfilter. I i'm going to find and outerwhere to put over the air box lid to let lots of air in but keep some of the crap out. I'm not sure if they make one for the blaster but i do know they make one for my dad's raptor and it worked good. So i might just have to improvise to get something to work. Ya the dunes i go to are in Alberta but i'd really like to go to somewhere in the states to the biggers sanddunes. That would be lots of fun!!
Thanks again for replying!! What do you drive a trike?

I ride a trike. 85 ATC250R with a 350 powervalve jug and all the goodies that go along with it. I've got a couple of other trikes also, but I mainly ride a 01 YZF426 dirtbike.

I'll bet with your newfound power that you would like one of the 03 blasters with full hydraulic disc brakes front and rear! The faster it goes the longer it takes to slow down.

Ya i'm glad they finaly did that mod on a blaster thats what everyone seems to complain about. But i don't think i'll buy it instead i wait and in a couple years get a banshee or someother high performance quad. And i bet you'd like the new YZ450.
