I know this should probably be in the tire section, but I wanted the opinion of sand riders, not readers. I have a set of 10 paddle Haulers I thought of trying out, but I did not know if this would be too much for my bike. I mostly jump, so low end hook-up is best. Has anyone tried the 10 paddle?

I had some and sold them right away. Too much drain on the engine and they turned like crap. My bike puts out around 42 hp so it should be comparable to your situation. I went to 20" 8 paddle edge's for most riding and have a set of 22" haulers that are wore down that I like to run on virgin sand. [I picked them up with a atc 250r I bought and they were already in that condition.] You've got the hp to run them but they are not the best application for 4 strokes IMHO.

Ten paddles will only work good on ported Shee's and Zillas.

10 paddle Haulers are too much tire for you.
I tried a set on my Raptor & they launch great but they really suck the power in the higher gears.
I run 8 paddle 22x11x10 Extremes on my piped Raptor.
For your Z I'd recomend 8 paddle 20x10x10 Extremes, perhaps you can pull the 22's but I wouldn't go higher than 8 paddles.

Obviously I am going to have to scratch that idea now. Thanks for your input. I plan on doing one of the beach races down in Cantamar and my wife gave me approval to get new paddles. I guess the most logical tire to get would be the Sand Skate II's. I saw a comparison once and they beat all but the 12" Hauler. Dumont on Halloween, here I come.

WP, my old Polaris is 72-75hp (that's crank HP) and I run the 20X10-8, 8 paddle haulers and they are awesome.I am geared at 15-34 at leave at 4200rpms (lots of wheel speed) and they were a night and day from some of the cheaper brands. If you plan on recreational riding, though, they dont like to be in a turn with the gas on.Buy the edges if you like to leisure ride, but if going straight is your thing, get the haulers. But the 8's should be perfect for you in my opinion.Bubba
