Questions About Dumont...
I've never been to the Dumont dunes, but I've seen some great pictures and it looks very cool. First of all, where is it/how do you get there? Second, how big is it in overall size? Third, how tall are the dunes? And last, are there any good campgrounds from which you can ride your quad directly to the sand? Thanks for the info!

Q: how do you get there?
A: take the 15 towards vegas. when you get to Baker. exit and head north on the state highway towards death valley fro about 30 miles. there is a dirt road on the right hand side.. keep an eye out. it is only marked with a reflector post. follow the dirt raod a few mile to the flats, it is a groomed road so 2wd is ok.
Q: how big is it?
A: no where near the size of glamis but big enough to enjoy long dune runs. you could bproably explore the whole place in a weekend. the good thing is that it doesnt get TOO crowded and youre not all over anyone else in teh dunes.
Q:how tall are th edunes?
A: BIG!!
Q: good camping spots to access teh dunes?
A: there really are no camping spots per say, the "campground" is a dirt flat at the base of teh dunes. there are 2 outhouses ofr restrooms, no hookups for rv's. so basically every campspot is a direct drive to the dunes.
here are a few links tehat will surely help you out"
