It depends on what you want to do. I run 20x11-8 Sand SkateII's for play and like them. I also have 10 paddle haulers for hill shooting/drag racing.

from what i have observed at the sand drags and at the dunes, the ultra light haulers are on all the very fast 2 strokes. paddles range from 9 to 12. 12 being on the long stretched customs. i have 2 sets of these ultra light haulers, one is 22-11-8 with 12 paddles and the other is 22-11-8 10 paddles. the 12 paddles slow my topend charge a little but the launch is wicked. the 10 paddles are good but not as good in the hole shot as the 12 paddles. my favorite play sand tire is padla brat on a 10" wide wheel. they have a very flat top profile and and you don't loose any top end speed. they don't seem to dig holes as bad as a hauler which is great if you like to play on the sides of the dunes. jmo

I will second the Padla Brat as a good "all around" tire. I run these on my QuadZilla, and love them for most everything. Most people cut half of every other paddle off, (similiar to a buggy tire) but I had very little cut off of each of my paddles. My Zilla is modded and does well with these tires. In some cases when drag racing, I wished they would hook more, and sometimes less. Sidehilling and tree shooting are a breeze. Find someone who stock Sand Tires Unlimited products, as I have found not everyone keeps the Padla Brats on hand. I bought mine from Jim's Sand Toys in Waynoka, Oklahoma for $80 per tire I believe. Hope this helps.

What is everyone's opinions of Geckos vs. Roosters vs. Sand Skate II on a 4-stoke(z400)?

Hey farmstud. I have some Geckos and liked them ok. I will be trying out my 8 paddle extremes on my 400ex though, and see how they compare this weekend since both the R's are torn down. I live in Tualatin, its about 15 min south of portland. Where do you live? I am looking to sell my geckos on douglas .160's too. You could come and take a look if you like.

DaBeachMan, how do you like the kevlar vs. regular haulers? Are they a big differance?
