Yes, I was surprised at the difference in the grip that the straight paddles gave me.
99% of my riding is racing around the dune. With the v cuts I noticed that the rear end would slide down when I was riding the razor. I get much more control with the straight paddles. Plus I can still kick the rear end around if I want.
I believe that the v cut steal more power than they give in control.
