YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO GET A PERMIT FOR THE FOLLWING WEEKENDS ,MEMORIAL DAY, LABOR DAY, AND 4TH OF JULY. THEY ARE GOING TO LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PERMITS THAT ARE GAVE OUT.

YOU CAN CALL THIS NUMBER TO GET A PERMIT 541-271-3611

The last couple years you needed a permit to be out at Sand Lake on those weekends. I usually go the weekend after the big holiday gatherings. Everybody else is either broken, broke, or tired from riding the weekend before, and the dunes aren't crowded at all. There's nothing like cresting the top of a dune and seeing no one else for a mile or more.

oh that things. It been going on for a few yrs.... to camp in Hauser area. they only do that on big 3 day weekend...
To me it nothing news.....

For Sandlake yes they do give out the permit over the holiday weekend too and it just too boring out there and it pretty damn small dune. You can cover the whole place in 30 min.

For another hour driving I rather go to Florence. get more riding time then Sandlake.

Yep, but Sand Lake can be good for a quick check on any new engine modifications. It is pretty much a catbox compared to the Southern Dunes.

no it not it just a pass that you pay one time per yr for whatever the cost is better then paying everytime you go riding from the dayuser parking which I think it cost 5 buck.
