Sandgod are you still going that weekend, it would be nice to ride with a local. Also if anyone else is going let me know.
Where should I park, I'll be in a RV and want to be close to easy dune riding for my fiancee, she has ridden at Pismo so
I am not to worried about her, its just I want to be where she can have fun.
Hope to see some people there.

Hey I am not Sandgod, but I know a little about where you should go. I am going to St. Anthony that week.
You have 3 choices for camping:
1. The mountain, the biggest steepest sand hill around, huge bowls around the backside, the big riding is here, as well as the late night drunk riding too. This is where the hill shooters hang out. There is no "quiet time" , so riding is ALL NIGHT.There are flush tiolets there and a few outhouses. No pads, fire pits just park on the sand and set up camp.Zero shade or shelter from wind. It can get really ugly when windy. We usually go here for the riding on the backside of the mountain.
2. Oasis, this place is cool because you have the facilities(bathroom, concrete pads, ect.) There is a little more shelter from wind there and the riding is great too. Its only a 25 min ride to the Mountain, all dunes or you can tak the trail. Its a little quiter there too.
3. White Sands : Lots of trees, dunes are a little smaller here, but still great fun. Bathrooms, picknick tables, fire pits, really nice. Quiet times at 10:00 pm and till 8:00 am. Kind of nice, but I like night riding too. It is a 35-40 min ride to "The Mountain" from there all dunes or you can take the trail. We rarely go there, only because we really like riding the big bowls out back of Sand Mountain. We got here when its really windy.
Don't be worried about rthe riding being close and easy, it is everywhere. You will love it. I would suggest Oasis, unless you are into hillshooting and late night partying then go to the Mountain, but I will say I am not really into either, and I go to the Mountain (HUGE BOWLS OUT BACK)
Good Luck, Have fun, let us know what you thought.

I agree, Oasis is the best. There are nice dunes to ride between there and the mountain and it's a lot more civilized. You can decide when you get there. Drive to the mountain then drive to Oasis and see what you prefer. It's the same cost no matter where you stay - $8 per day.

I have nothing to add to the topic as it is covered. I am going on the thursday as I said unless the brutal south wind decides to kick up. I will be back down w/ my group on Sat also.. If you don't mind pulling up camp you can try the mountain on wed or thursday nigh and Oasis on the weekend. Shouldn't be many people at the mountain on a weekday so you should be able to sleep..
"south wind" is something I need to be aware of, is the wind a bad thing out there, this is my first trip. I'm just going to
camp at Oasis, so stop on by when you get there, I shouldn't be hard to find. if you have any other important info such
as driving directions or anything then let me know.

South wind blows before a northern cold front comes in. Other then that wind is like any other place. Being sand blasted on the dunes is not fun.. Oasis has trees to combat the wind if it does happen..

I should be there as well with my brother Sangod. I just sold my Dale and have a Tecate on it's way as we speak. I do have my eye on a YZ 426 powered quad at the moment. Maybe I'll have that machine there as well. We'll see you there. Hey Brad, looking forward to riding with you at St. Anthony's over the 4th. Can't wait.
Cool looks like it will be a good size group, I can't wait to meet and ride with you all. It sure is going to be nice to have
others to ride with in a place I have never been, I want to see it all from big hills to massive bowls, oh yeah and alot
of jumping, I can never get tired of flying through the air.

Buddha,
A tecate huh??? Hmm - that's a departure from what you've been riding lately. I know who has a nice looking Basnhee for sale and he lives real close to you too.
The 4th should be a good time at St. A.
