Stuck In The Mud
#3
There is no access for any vehicles to get in there except for quads. We had 3 sections of chain 2 tow straps all together with a 2 1/2 come along secured to a chevy truck and was pulling the truck over the hill.
So we went back to digging again. During the dig we lost 3 pairs of boots in the process. So we finally got a friend with a 4X4 pick up come down and he was able to pull it out.
I think the real reason why it took so long was due to the mud being so bad and the fact it was right at the Christmas Holidays and all of our resources were with their families.

Yes bsummers12 if you can believe it this mud looks almost as bad as this lake that they drained near my home to rebuild the Dam , they always drained it every 20 yrs. for the new dam construction ; it was a private lake they didn't allow anyone who weren't rich land owner fish !
But they would allow anyone to fish when they draining it was Dam reconstruction , you could fish the lake untill it got down to the bottom of the old dam then the only way to get to the holes of water where the big Cats would migrate and hold up untill the water got so low they had to bury themselves in the muddy bottom and wait for the rebuild and rains to refill it ; there were some monster flatheads and huge bass large mouth and small mouth !
Seems like this lake bed got softer everytime they drained it ,in the 60's you could wade out to reach these holes that still had enough water where the big ones made their last stand , even in the 60's they had to form chains with people holding hands to help each other from being stuck ; but the last time it was drained the bottom was like quicksand !
It was so bad ifanyone had tried ride a quad far enough to the edge of the dried up parts it would bury the quad and take 4 to 5 quads to pull them out , man you couldn't even walk close enough to cast a reel far enough to reach these holes without sinking up to your waist ; and take a quad with a long rope to drag them out to saftey but this looks some kind of bad stuff !
